YouTube users have taken to the comments section of Peluchin videos to complain about what they see as animal abuse. In fact, some people have even called for the deactivation of the AkatsukitoXiao channel, which featured a video showing a decapitated cat. Nevertheless, the channel and a lot of its copycats remain active.
The YouTube channel Peluchin Entertainment has over 35,000 subscribers, which is a good number, but it has also drawn a lot of criticism. The most recent video posted by Peluchin drew more than 4.6 million viewers. Though he has not uploaded a video since Dec. 15, the video was the most popular on the channel. A month later, Peluchin’s channel is still up, but a lot of people have complained about the lack of updates.
YouTube has a long history of banning channels that promote animal abuse. After a number of prominent content creators called for the channel to be banned, YouTube did so. This move is part of a wider effort to ensure that YouTube does not become a platform for abusive content. This step is a big step in the right direction. In the meantime, a plethora of animal abusers are looking for alternative means of expressing themselves, and Peluchin Entertainment has become a major player in this space.
