The Texas Tech Red Raiders will play in the Sweet 16 of the Texas Tech Indoor Classic. The Red Raiders’ women’s basketball team lost to the Oklahoma Sooners in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and will look to rebound with a win at the Texas Tech Indoor Classic. The Red Raids will face Southwest Texas State University, which won the Rio Grande Valley White Division.
The Texas Tech Indoor Classic features college basketball games that feature players from across the state of Texas. Teams are chosen for the tournament based on their regular season record. The teams that win the tournament are presented with trophies. The event is sponsored by DICK’S Sporting Goods. The tournament is held annually.
The event will take place inside Texas Tech Indoor Classic Performance Center. The competition will feature multiple Division I and Division II schools. There will also be a number of Lone Star Conference schools competing. The top teams will be vying for a spot in the championship. This is the first indoor meet for the Tarleton track and field program in two years.
The team will open the season without Clyde Hart and Todd Harbour. When Harbour decided to retire, the program selected Michael Ford as the successor. He is taking a highly decorated team to the Corky Classic in Lubbock. It will also field several relay All-Americans in the women’s division. The first two days of the meet will feature women’s and men’s weight throws, as well as the mile and shot put. The competition will continue through Saturday with running events.
