During the week ending Dec. 26, the Midland Health Department reported 1,170 cases. This is the fourth highest number of cases in a single week. The number of cases during Dec. 19-25 was 390. The health department also reported 200 or more cases twice during the weeks ending Dec. 29 and 30. No cases were reported in the week of Jan. 1-7. Meanwhile, more than 80 people were infected with COVID at Midland Memorial Hospital.
